ABOUT SHIATSU
Shiatsu and Holistic Acupressure are physical therapies that support and strengthen the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself.
They work on the whole person - not just with the physical body, but also with the psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects of being.
Shiatsu originated in Japan from traditional Chinese medicine, with influences from more recent Western therapies. Although shiatsu means ‘finger pressure’ in Japanese, in practice a practitioner uses touch, comfortable pressure and manipulative techniques to adjust the body’s physical structure and balance its energy flow. It is a deeply relaxing experience and regular treatments can alleviate stress and illness and maintain health and well-being.

Zen Shiatsu & The Five Elements
Zen Shiatsu goes directly to the core of the receiver's present condition via its subtle diagnostic system. The use of a stationary, “listening” hand guiding the penetrating, working hand makes for great sensitivity and effectiveness.

Based on traditional Chinese medicine, the Five Elements Shiatsu style addresses all aspects of the client, and considerations of the client's physical symptoms, lifestyle, emotional, and psychological factors are all considered important.
